5 Everyday Foods Rich in Phytoestrogens

Flaxseeds and Sesame Seeds
Tiny seeds punch far above their weight when it comes to hormone support.
Flaxseeds are the richest dietary source of lignans, a type of phytoestrogen. They are also high in fiber, which supports the removal of excess hormones, and in omega-3 fatty acids, which help reduce inflammation. Grind whole flaxseeds for the best absorption, since whole seeds tend to pass through undigested, and aim for one to two tablespoons daily stirred into smoothies, oatmeal, or yogurt.
Sesame seeds contain lignans similar to those in flax, along with zinc for hormone production, plus calcium and magnesium for bone health. Sprinkle them over salads and stir-fries, or use tahini in dressings and sauces.
