Where to Use It, and Where Not To
This mixture is a great all-purpose option for many hard floors, but it is not right for every surface. It works beautifully on:
- Tile
- Vinyl flooring
- Ceramic and porcelain
- Laminate or varnished floors, using a little less baking soda
There are two surfaces to avoid. Do not use it on raw, untreated wood, which can be damaged by moisture, or on natural porous stone such as marble, where the vinegar’s acidity can etch and dull the surface. For those materials, stick to a cleaner made specifically for stone or sealed wood. When in doubt, test your mixture on a small, hidden patch first.
